If your Valentine is a fan of calibration test prints for their 3D printer, this model is the perfect solution! It consists of a series of interlocked hearts hugged by a bigger heart. It functions as home decoration and a 3D printer stress test, letting you know what your machine is capable of.
In this case, the model allows you to test your retraction settings based on the amount of stringing. You’ll also be able to evaluate the efficiency of your cooling by looking at the arcs of the hearts: The cleanest arc has the best cooling.
As the creator suggests, you should consider using a brim for this print, since it has a small base. Because the model might fail due to a toolhead collision with the part, enable Z Hop and print slowly.

This heart puzzle is a fun game to play on Valentine’s Day and involves trying to fit a collection of irregular geometries into a heart shape. According to the designer, there are 363 different ways to organize the 16 pieces inside the heart, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to solve. As seen in the image above, the creator of this puzzle recommends printing the heart outline in a different color than the pieces.
The designer listed that they used a 0.4-mm diameter nozzle to print the parts in PLA with a 0.2-mm layer height, and they said that it required a total print time of a little under 4 hours with 59 grams of material. This model doesn’t need supports, but watch out for warping!

Although the ring was designed for resin 3D printing, you can print it on an FDM machine.
