The Future of Furniture?
Aectual's robotic-arm 3D printers to create on a curve.

Aectual's massive robotic arms have apparently gotten bored with straight lines and will soon be 3D printing directly onto curved surfaces, the company says. This means the wild, swooping furniture and architectural designs you've only dreamed of are now possible. The best part? They're doing it sustainably with recycled plastics, proving that the future of design isn't just curvy, it's also circular.

Polymaker HT-PLA is back in stock globally!

The new material, released earlier this year, sold out quickly, and Polymaker had to ramp up production to meet demand. A few colors were back in stock last month, but the material is now stocked worldwide with all colors, Polymaker told All3DP.

HT-PLA and HT-PLA-GF are touted as having a Vicat softening temperature (VST) just above 150 ºC,  with stability surpassing even Polycarbonate at oven temperatures over 160 ºC. It generally looks like an ideal material for prints bound for the great outdoors.

Anycubic's looking for makers' input – and rewarding them for it.

But time is of the essence, as today's the last day the survey's running.

If you want to be one of the 17 makers who'll be awarded for their feedback, head to the Reddit post or click directly on the survey link, answer a few questions based on your 3D printing experience and more, and submit the form. Then sit back and wait to see if you're one of the lucky ones who'll earn 5 kg, 2 kg, or 1 kg of PLA.

The Reddit post clarifies that, if Anycubic "can't reach your region, (they'll) arrange an equivalent reward." Might still be well worth your time.

Weekend Poll
A "failed" print can mean many things,

from print imperfections to literal failure on the plate, spaghetti and all. If you've spent a moderate amount of time printing, then you too have probably found yourself surrounded by such not-quite-right prints. But what do you do with them all?

Format Facelift
The 3MF file format — STL’s cooler, more talented cousin — has officially earned ISO standard status.

What does that mean for you? In short: expect to bump into 3MF files a lot more often when browsing repositories or firing up your favorite slicer, and see fewer of those humble STL relics. 3MFs are a more comprehensive representation of 3D models that includes materials, colors, textures, and even support structures. The 3MF Consortium says this ISO badge of honor should break down adoption barriers, speed up industry-wide use.

Cold, crushed, and still kicking, this titanium sphere survives space stress test.

In simulated outer-space conditions, under pressure of 330 bar and cooled to -196ºC, this 3D printed titanium 640 mm-diameter fuel tank held. Made with DED 3D printing technology at the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, researchers say the first-of-its-kind test results lay the foundation for widespread applications of 3D printing in aerospace.

Word.
Printables has launched "Articles", a blog service for 3D printing.

Now, users and designers can share blog-like articles in the same place as their models. Prusa says it's a great way to "monetize your expertise and detailed guides," and much like Patreon, users can lock content behind Club subscriptions. There are even analytics to see how content is performing, which could help curate future articles.

When Printables introduced "Clubs", we called the subscription service "Patreon-like". With Articles, it looks like the service is inching a little further into that territory.

xTool's Back to School sale sees up to $600 off the Metalfab. Which begs the question...

Who the heck needs to drag one of these around for school? The welding unit has wheels I suppose. That probably helps. In any case xTool's 1200W laser-powered metal cutting, engraving, and welding all-in-one can be picked up for $15,999 – $600 off. Alternatively the basic 1200W laser welder is $7,999 – a $250 discount.
