As is tradition, Prusament’s anniversary brings a new limited edition filament drop. This time, it’s close to the company’s signature Prusa Orange, but a little... extra.

Prusa Research is once again marking the passage of time with plastic, announcing the release of Prusament PLA LE 2025 “Goldfish” to celebrate the filament brand’s seventh anniversary. As has become tradition for the Czech manufacturer, the birthday brings a limited-run material that injects a sense of urgency you don’t typically get for filament.

First things first: the color. Dubbed “Goldfish,” this year’s entry is a fancy orange blend that leans heavily into the company’s signature hue but adds a distinct gold metallic glitter fleck. It follows the aesthetic path of previous anniversary editions like 2024’s “Radiant Sky,” mixing a translucent base with a heavy amount of glitter. In a blog post covering the announcement plus other milestones of the Prusament brand in 2025, it jokily states if they added more glitter, it wouldn’t be printable.

That said, this particular limited edition is much smaller than in previous years. Prusa is restricting the run to 500 spools, only half of the 1,000 spool count for Radian Sky in 2024.

It begs the usual question – does limited edition filament even make sense? As a celebration, and a reason to drum up interest in an event, absolutely. But in a practical sense, there’s the potential to waste it on support structures and failed prints. Is it better left as a collector’s item, unprinted and vacuum sealed for posterity and FOMO completionists, or a gamble on rad prints with a cool story behind them? Who are we to say.

Whatever your opinion, it’s available to buy now from the Prusa webstore. Limited to one spool per account, a roll costs $47.99, taxes and duties included.
