It's not who you are underneath this awesome Batman cosplay, but what you do while you're wearing it that defines you
It's not who you are underneath, but what you do while you're wearing it that defines you (Source: Kamil Krawczak via HuffPost)

Batman has said “Everything is impossible until somebody does it”, which is true for this next incredible model. The full-scale replica suit designed by Order 66 Creatures and Effects isn’t battle-ready, but it’ll have you ready for every competition you enter! It even held the previous world record for most functional gadgets in a cosplay suit with 23 working items.

This cosplay suite was professionally printed by Tundra Designs and Gauntlet FX, but according to HuffPost, a suit like this one including all its gadgets can be purchased for a little under $9,000.

If you want to replicate this exact design, be prepared to pay a hefty price for all of the intricate details and necessary professional printing. However, you can use this design as inspiration to design your own (scaled down) Batman cosplay. Other designers have used NinjaTek NinjaFlex filament to print similar full-body cosplays that are relatively easy to move in.

  • Who designed it: Order 66 Creatures and Effects
  • Who printed it: Tundra Designs and Gauntlet FX professionally printed the design for Order 66 Creatures and Effects

Want to be the Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and the Protector of the Realm? No King Joffrey cosplay would be complete without your own crown. Now all you have to master is his cold and calculating personality, and you’ll be set to go!

This print is split into four pieces that are then glued (the designer used the brand Araldite) together. They also stated that they printed the model at 0.2-mm layer height and 10% infill, which took about 13-14 hours and used 170 grams of filament. To get the gold color on the crown, the creator painted it, but you could also use metal filament.

Sting (Bilbo's Sword)

Don't be surprised by any orcs at your next convention!
Don't be surprised by any orcs at your next convention! (Source: ricardoalves via MyMiniFactory)

No cosplay of Bilbo or Frodo would be complete without Sting: the infamous glowing sword from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies.

This sword is smaller than your typical sword, which is perfect for someone of Hobbit stature. It even included the engraving “Maegnas aen estar nin dagnir in yngyl im” which translates to: “Sting is my name; I am the spider’s bane”.

Go on your next fantastic journey with Sting in hand and never be caught off guard by some pesky orcs! Since this is a plastic, 3D printed sword, it unfortuntaly doesn’t glow as Sting does in the movies. But feel free to use glow-in-the-dark filament or paint to achieve the desired effect!

The designer recommends printing at the highest resolution, a slow speed, and with 20% infill. They also suggest using a raft for stability. Once again, make sure to read through the comments for some helpful tips and tricks!

  • Who designed it: ricardoalves
  • Who printed it: There’s 1 community make of this special sword, plus over 4,400 downloads and almost 40,000 views.
