The Prusa HT hotend is now available as a drop-in replacement for all stock Core One 3D printers, with the only exception is INDX-equipped machines (for the obvious reason that they don't use the Nextruder hotend.)
First teased back at Formnext 2025, Prusa’s high-temperature HT hotend upgrade for the Core One series of printers is available. Comprising a high-temp heater block with 0.4 mm ObXidian 500 nozzle, it’s a $199.99 drop-in replacement for the stock hotend. While a lot of attention is on the INDX at the moment in Prusaland, it’s nice to refocus back onto the relative simplicity of the Nextruder – all you need to do to switch the hotend out is loosen two thumbscrews and disconnect the heater block cable.
Outfitted on any of the Core One, Core One+, Core One+ Gen2, Core One L, and Core One L+ 3D printers, the HT hotend tips the printing temperature up to 400°C. That’s not hot enough to tackle PEEK, which would require chamber temperatures much higher than any Core One is capable of, but it does push the performance ceiling of the Core One series into much more comfortable territory for tough engineering materials that need high temperatures for better interlayer bonding. With it, materials like PEKK-CF, PPS, and PPSU are now printable on the Core One.
A short release about the hotend positions the HT as the ideal choice for getting a performance bump out of your Polycarbonate, and Nylon printing. The base Core One printer hotend maxes out at 290°C. Prusa describes a 7% gain in interlayer adhesion for its Prusament Polycarbonate Blend Carbon Fiber when printed at 350°C – something not possible on a stock Core One printer.

Of the line up of printers, the Core One L+ is the most adapted to deal with the materials at play, with a slightly higher maximum chamber temperature thanks to its higher-power print bed. Coinciding with the release of the HT hotend Prusa now also offers the Core One L+, assembled, with the HT hotend as standard equipment, along with other optional accessories that cater to the higher-temp materials, including a high-temp specific print plate and advanced filtration system – a HEPA and carbon air filter. The Core One L+ with HT hotend is $2,169 – a $30 saving over buying them separately.
Due to the higher temperatures in play, some of the stock printed parts that come on the printers need to be switched out with higher-temp resistant replacements. These are included in the box with the HT hotend.
Available as of this week, at of the time of writing there’s already a two-week lead time for the HT hotend upgrade. Visit the Prusa webstore to see more.
