If you’re the kind of person to get festive and decorate for the holidays, Biqu’s newest build plate drop is just for you.

Functionally, the Biqu Halloween Edition CryoGrip Pro FrostBite plate is virtually no different to the regular, double-sided cool blue FrostBite plate. The sole difference is that it’s orange. Pumpkin orange. Available to preorder for $23.99 as a part of Biqu’s ongoing Halloween sale, it’s a festive changeup to the usual black, gold, or blue of build plate coloring.

Available in A1, A1 Mini, and P- and X-series sizes for the Bambu Lab printers, it’s a seasonal, functional decoration for your 3D printer. Is it necessary? No. Do we want one? Yes.

To refresh you on the claimed capabilities of the FrostBite build plate, it’s Biqu’s low temperature plate, offering superior build plate adhesion at lower temperatures. The theory goes that by printing with a lower bed temperature, you’re saving on energy costs. I think the real benefit comes more simply from it being a high-adhesion plate for low temp materials, meaning fewer failed prints.

Biqu Halloween Sale

The Halloween-themed plate is just the pumpkin-colored tip of the spear for Biqu, which has specials on many of the Panda series Bambu Lab accessories, upgrades and mods, plus discounts on new filaments including the footwear-focused MorPhlex, which is a variable hardness flexible filament that can be soft or firm, depending on your print parameters. Plus Biqu’s CarbonCore25 carbon fiber-filled range of materials, which is a 25% fiber-filled series that includes PLA, ABS, PETG, and PA, all in a black matte-effect color.

Footwear fanciers can pick up Biqu’s surprisingly comfortable and durable Biqu Life Slippers for $59, $20 off their regular price of $79. Likewise, many of Biqu’s open ecosystem of aftermarket 3D printer parts, like the Kraken 8-axis mainboard and the BTT Eddy Duo sensor, which is designed for rapid bed leveling on systems that use Klipper firmware.
