Get ready to go on an adventure by 3D printing the Master Sword and making it even more spectacular with Bambu Lab's kit.
We’ve been aiming to up our Thing of the Week game by featuring projects that demand a bit more from the process, but which also lead to spectacular – and well worthwhile – results. No, we’re not sponsored by Bambu Lab. We just think that it’s pretty handy how they set up everything to streamline the process, from encouraging designers to offering a motion-activated sound and light props kit that’s just perfect for pretty much any project.
And here’s how we came across 卡卡’s Lightening Zelda Master Sword, a great model that can be ideal for cosplay or if you just want to have some impressive props to show off. Or maybe you’ve been playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on your Nintendo Switch 2 non-stop since it’s been released, and you need to get your eyes off the screen for a minute. This might just be the perfect project.
But how can you create your own?
This creation looks beyond impressive – and yes, some work is required to make it so. The good news? You don’t need to be scared, as the process is fairly straightforward and you can also opt for a simplified version if you don’t want the whole sound-and-light take.
The designer included a print version that’s meant for standard-size printers, but if you’ve got an A1 Mini, don’t despair! Another maker shared their print profile, adapting everything. While the former takes around 17 hours, the latter, understandably, increases this to a little over 20 hours. Still, well worth it if you ask us.
Only three materials are needed, and the designer opted for three of Bambu Lab’s PLAs, including a silky option for the decor in the hilt. Another maker opted for glow-in-the-dark PLA for the blade, which’ll certainly add to the coolness factor, whether the lightning kit is in use or not.
Maker 卡卡 (@168888) has shared just over 80 models, and they’re all epic for a variety of reasons. From adding wings to your phone when it’s chilling to a fun bubble wand, plus a useful pencil grip and a striking monster hunter sword, it’s definitely worth looking at what they have to offer.
While there’s no direct support as with Ko.Fi or Patreon, you can always follow them on MakerWorld to stay informed on their latest designs.
