Wondering what the perfect lighting setup might be for your home? 3D print this square lamp to add some pizzazz!
There are many 3D printing ideas to decorate your home and your bedroom, and lamps are no exception.
It should come as no surprise then, that this Thing of the Week features a modern, sleek design that’s as easy to print and set up as it is to add to any room. The best part? Like many 3D printed models, you can customize it with your filament of choice and, in this case, with the LED lights that’ll produce the exact effect you’re going for, whether white, RGB, dimmable, or more.
Let’s take a closer look at a model that’s meant to brighten up our lives!
The designer specified the materials chosen – three galaxy (a.k.a. sparkly) PLAs, two from Prusament, and as for printing tips, the profile included in MakerWorld shows what a breeze it is to create. With 0.2-mm layer height, two walls, and 10% infill, you shouldn’t encounter any challenges printing any of the parts.
That said, you might want to make sure your printer’s as accurate as can be, as 12 M3 x 10 screws are needed to keep the different parts together. And while one maker commented that the shade doesn’t fit as well as it should, others haven’t mentioned the same issue. As for the LED strip, the creator specifies that he used a 5-meter strip.
Maker JakubLattenberg can be found on both Printables and MakerWorld, where he’s shared over 100 designs. The numbers differ for each platform, though, so you might want to follow him on both to make sure you don’t miss any new releases!
His models are as varied as can be: From lightsabers for Dummy 13 to lion wall art, including a headband with a flower and a multifunctional arm, you’re bound to find something fun, useful, and worth printing among the designs. And to show your support, you can follow him on both repositories.
At Printables and MakerWorld.
