Version 4.0 of professional 3D printing software Simplify3D is now available, promising to wring brand new capabilities from your 3D printer.

A major update for 3D printing software Simplify3D is available to download today. Version 4.0 adds a variable settings wizard, dynamic feature sizing, and improved model foundations.

Simplify3D CEO Clayton Webster says of the new release:

“We’ve always been focused on pushing the limits of what you can accomplish with additive manufacturing. New features in Version 4.0 will help our customers improve their print quality and unlock new capabilities with their 3D printers.”

The software has long been popular thanks to innovations like the Dual Extrusion Wizard, customizable supports, and a lightning-fast slicer. Version 4.0 introduces a Variable Settings Wizard to optimize printing in different sections of a model for better results.

Other new features are Dynamic Feature Sizing, where users can dynamically adjust the amount of plastic extruded from a nozzle; plus a set of improved model foundations for more complex models.

Other Additions in Simplify3D Version 4.0

Version 4.0 also includes new features driven by community feedback. There’s a new animated preview, for example; this shows a simulation of the extruder as it lays down each individual line of plastic.

There’s also a completely new bridging algorithm, improved mesh simplification tools, new dual extrusion options, and much more. Customers can explore a full list of features included in Version 4.0 by visiting the Simplify3D website.

Continues Webster:

“We are excited to deliver on many of our most popular feature requests and want to thank our community for helping to make Simplify3D better. Together, with your passion and support, we are confident that we will continue to drive innovation and push the limits of desktop 3D printing.”

More importantly, Simplify3D says they remain committed towards the goal of universal compatibility, with support for nearly 100 new 3D printers added in the past year.

Their software is compatible with the latest 3D printing hardware, and has partnered with 3D printing companies in over 30 countries (plus multiple language localization) to support a worldwide 3D printing audience.

Version 4.0 is a free upgrade for all existing Simplify3D customers. Visit the Simplify3D website for more information.
