This DIY Multitool Is a Long-Awaited Modern Twist On The Popular Swiss Card

An interesting new design on Printables this week is a DIY multitool that includes space for seven unique tools, and serves as a modern take on the popular Swiss Card.

Created by Chris Borge, whose YouTube channel documents his years-in-the-making quest to create the perfect multitool. The updated design of the “Model 303 Wallet Multitool” incorporates a ruler, a flathead screwdriver, a phone stand, a pen, tweezers, a knife, a pin, and an SD card slot that doubles as a key holder. For the tweezers and pen, you’ll need an original Swiss Card – or to purchase them individually as replacement parts. The knife, meanwhile, uses a craft knife blade and a 3D printed handle.

In all, Borge’s multitool is sleek and intuitive, with a single button press ejecting the SD card or key, and the knife positioned in such a way that it can be easily removed from the top of the card while it’s in your wallet.

There’s no build guide yet (though Borge says that one is coming), only 14 STL files and a parts list – although from what we’ve seen it’s a relatively simple process involving printing the parts, positioning them, then screwing two halves of the card together with six M1.6 x 4.5 mm glasses screws.
