Sleek, subtle, and likely to outlast the end time, Casio's quintessential G-Shock is probably the last watch you'll ever need.

Durability is underrated. Time was that a cellphone could be punted up and down a football field all day long and still lets you SMS home at the end of the day (looking at you, Nokia 3510). Today, if a smartphone gets even a whiff of concrete the screen pulls a hasty Spiderman app, and you spend the next two-years resenting your cell carrier’s long contra… we digress.

Rated as flight-qualified for spaceflight by the boffins at NASA, Casio’s G-Shock DW5600E is a tank of a watch that has passed from uncool dad-accessory to vogueish tool of the understatedly stylish. A transition it’s handled without sacrificing its legendary toughness, to boot.

We can think of no finer timepiece to survive the most rigorous of workshop conditions. That, and the battery lasts for years, it looks great and is relatively cheap, too.
