Snapmaker’s Dual Extrusion Printing Module Available from Late September

Two nozzles are better than one according to Snapmaker. On September 27, 2022, Snapmaker will launch a dual extrusion 3D printing module that’s compatible with Snapmaker 2.0.

The module will be able to heat up to 300 °C, resulting in the capacity to print with a broader range of materials. Snapmaker claims that the dual extrusion can produce high-quality prints with its 7.5:1 planetary gear, explaining that a smaller motor can achieve a larger pulling force. The company claims it has achieved a 20mm³/s flow rate thanks to the combination of its stepper motor, planetary gear, and dual extrusion gears.

The module can work with different-sized nozzles on each hot end. So, in theory, you could print a shell with a 0.2 mm and do the infill with a thicker 0.8 nozzle.

Due to the estimated increased heat from printing with the two hot ends in close proximity, Snapmaker has engineered four inbuilt fans to cool the printhead.
