Phaetus Launches New XG Hot End
Launched under the new subbrand Drop Effect, the XG hotend heats up to 300 ℃ and features one-handed nozzle changes.
Phaetus has released visualizations for its upcoming XG hotend on social media. Standing for ‘extreme gradient’, the XG will be released under its new sub-brand Drop Effect. Across the posts, the company has detailed several compelling aspects of this new hot end.
The XG hot end boasts an extreme temperature gradient, meaning there’s less chance of clogs. The hot end also offers one-handed nozzle changing, thanks to a three-point mounting between the ring heater block and the frame surrounding the heatsink.
Considering the range of versatile mounting options, the XG can be added to a variety of different 3D printers, including those with standard Creality mounts or E3D V6 style groove mounts.
With the capacity to heat up to 300 ℃, the XG should also be suitable for printing tricker, high-performance materials. It’ll be a potential tool for those interested in printing materials such as polycarbonate or polyamides such as Prusa Research’s recently released Prusament Carbon Fiber Polyamide filament.
No word on pricing just yet, but the XG will be joining a stable of popular low-cost hot ends from Phaetus, including the company’s Dragon series.
