Mango 3D’s latest update to its popular third-party slicing software builds on the momentum of November’s FDM-compatible version 5.0

Mango 3D last week released a 5.0.2 update to Lychee Slicer, bringing with it new features including support for custom filament 3D printers.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of November’s version 5.0 update to the popular third-party slicing software, which offered compatibility with both resin and filament 3D printers – quite the shakeup for the consumer space for filament 3D printing slicing, which has been dominated by Ultimaker Cura and PrusaSlicer.

With the release of Lychee Slicer 5.0.2, Mango 3D seems to be building on this momentum. Alongside a host of bug fixes, optimizations, and improvements, comes the option for users to add custom filament 3D printer profiles – which were limited to a wide variety of presets in previous versions.

The update also includes the addition of traditional Chinese language and a batch tool for filament 3D printers, which can presumably automatically process several “repetitive and tedious tasks” such as scaling or rotating.

Lychee Slicer is available for both FDM and resin 3D printers in a free and “pro” version, which adds extra features, modes, and “more advanced” tools. For full release notes for version 5.0.2, visit Mango 3D’s website.
