With a build volume 220% larger than the classic X1C, the H2S is also compatible with a laser module like the H2D, aiming to be a full "Personal Manufacturing Hub" on your desktop.
Dubbed the “flagship” of the H-Series 3D printers from Bambu Lab — and the company’s third release this year — the Bambu Lab H2S is the largest and most affordable. The printer itself is $1,249 ($1,499 with an AMS 2, and $2,099 with the full laser combo).
Yes, the H2S is compatible with the same 10W laser, cutting, and drawing module as the H2D, for the full “Personal Manufacturing Hub” that Bambu Lab aims to deliver. And, yes, All3DP was sent one in advance — darn you, customs jail — and we’ll bring you our hands-on review as soon as we get our hands on it.

Although the H2S has the same machine dimensions as the dual-extruder-toting H2D, it can achieve a slightly larger build volume because of its single extruder. For the droves of Bambu Lab fans clamoring for a larger printer, the “long-awaited larger build volume” in the H2S is only an extra 15 mm on the height while losing 10 mm on the width. Bambu Lab would rather customers compare the H2S to the X-Series printers, where numbers like “220% the volume of X1C,” and “67% increase in extrusion force” compared to the X1C, sound far more appeasing.
Other than the single extruder vs. the double extruder and the price, the H2S and the H2D are pretty much the same.
Overall, yes, the H2S would have felt more impressive had Bambu Lab led with it as a really nice upgrade to the X1C, and then launched the H2D and H2D Pro. Yet, the company says: “We listened. Makers and professionals asked for expanded capabilities and performance, but without the complexity of a dual-nozzle setup.” This indicates that, perhaps, the H2S wasn’t in the works from the start of the H-Series planning.
Taken as a whole, the H-Series printers are a definite advancement in Bambu Lab’s tech.

Like its dual-nozzle sibling the H2D, the H2S is available as a Laser Full Combo configuration. This option integrates laser engraving and cutting, digital cutting, and precision drawing capabilities within the same compact enclosure, complete with specialized safety features including laser-safe green glass windows.
Although affordable enough for hobbyists, Bambu Lab says “H2S delivers the power and precision professionals demand in a streamlined, faster, and more accessible package.” As we pointed out in our look at the H2D as a professional printer, it has the capabilities and features of some of the leading pro desktop FDMs from UltiMaker, Prusa, and even Stratasys, for thousands less.
The H2S AMS Combo (H2S + AMS 2 Pro) and H2S Laser Full Comb (H2S + AMS 2 Pro + Laser Module, Cutting Module) are available worldwide now at Bambu Lab’s online store and through resellers. The H2S standalone unit will be available in October.
Despite the tariff situation in the U.S., Bambu Lab has kept the prices pretty consistent across the globe. The standalone H2S is €1,149 including VAT in the EU, ¥8,999 in China, and £999 in the UK, which under today’s currency conversion rates all equal roughly the $1,249 before tax price in the U.S.
