Titan 2 DLP 3D Printer: More Features and User-Friendly

Titan 2

Kudo3D unveils their new Titan 2 3D printer, a user-friendly, feature-heavy successor to the popular Titan 1.

The Titan 1 DLP 3D printer hit Kickstarter in 2014. It’s one of the crowdfunding platform’s 3D printer success stories. Kudo3D raised $687,116 to bring their cutting-edge DLP SLA printer to life.

Now they’re back with Titan 2, building on a printer that’s still at the top of its game.

Like its predecessor, the Titan 2 features Kudo3D’s own bottom-up PSP (passive self-peeling) technology which is meant to minimize the separation force of cured layers, creating better resolution without sacrificing speed.

It also further built on the Titan 1’s ability to create hair-thin prints. They proved this by printing a 45-micron thin needle, that’s less than half the diameter of a strand of hair.

Titan 2 3D Printer: More User-Friendly Features

The manufacturer claims the upcoming printer also has several added functions to make printing easier. It includes new plug-and-play functionality as well as a built-in Raspberry Pi and Wi-Fi connectivity. These additions make it printer more user-friendly and appropriate for non-techies.

With web-based controlling, competitive specs, and new functionality, the new printer should be particularly good for educators, designers, and the like as well makers. Plus, the printer comes fully assembled and calibrated.

Titan 2 DLP 3D Printer Features:

  • XY resolution: 37μm ~ 100μm (HD native pixel size)
  • Maximum print speed: 2.7 in / hr for XY: 50 μm and z:100 μm resolution
  • Maximum Build Size at 100 μm XY resolution: 7.5 in x 4.3 in x 9.8 in (L x W x H)

The Titan 2 is currently on pre-order as a $3,488 Starter Kit, which is expected to ship early July. Kudo3D, however, is taking $200 off that price for customers who order before June 19th.

It’s surprising to see Kudo3D, who not so long ago Kickstarted and delivered a cutting edge printer, back with something even better. They clearly realize how important it is to always stay ahead of the curve.
