Victory of Samothrace

Winged Victory, the Nike of Samothrace, can be dated back to 200 BC. With so much history flying around, you can really appreciate the detail that the original sculpture had. It is truly a work of art that you can now have in your home.

A few makers had problems when trying to print the full model because of the large file size, and when they voiced their issues, the creator of this 3D model was nice enough to break it into smaller STL files for easier printing. The resizing of the file most likely helped boost this model’s popularity to be what it is today.

Torrent Cactus Pots

Do you have a green thumb? The lucky part about this print is that it doesn’t require you to be able to keep the plant alive much. Just a little bit of water every once in a while and you’re set. When printing these pots you won’t need much except for a little bit of support for the handle on the side.

The creator of this model was going for a cement look for these minimalist pots and found that marble PLA was perfect for a similar look. We agree with his choice – these pots look sharp. Sometimes it’s interesting to see how workarounds for solutions can sometimes turn out just as good, if not better, than the original idea.

When you want to be one step ahead of the game, then start printing these fun and elegant chess pieces. The maker community has really upped the expectations with them!

A nice feature of these chess pieces is that they don’t require any supports, so you won’t have to do any pesky post-processing. The creator of this set has been working on this project as a way to design them where only a 3D printer would be able to make them. After a little bit of a hiccup with the Knight, they finally felt confident enough to release these into the wild.

  • How printable/popular is it? With each piece being downloaded over 200,000 times and with more than 230 makes shared, we are starting to think that these are liked by the community.

Ah yes, The Bearded Yell has been around for a while and is bragged about as having unbelievable detail, down to the model even having tooth potholes. You may notice that the pillar the man sits on even includes great detail and artistry. We have seen this in all shapes and sizes, but we hadn’t seen it in marble… until now.

Even if you don’t think that the head should be marble, you could always print the stand in marble and paint the bust to your heart’s content.

We guarantee that the Flintstones’ never thought that they’d be able to 3D print these vases. We wouldn’t blame them for being upset with how easy we have it nowadays.

Putting aside the Flintstone aspect of this model, we can see that with the right marble filament, this model really stands out.

It has a perfect chiseled look already, which is only enhanced by the filament, and the maker has made it so it can be printed fast and easily with no supports needed. As long as your bed is leveled, you should have no issue printing this model.

When you stare at this model, you might find yourself at peace. With the comforting design, we can really see how this can shine in marble filament. Being able to print a new piece of furniture should give you a good feeling of pride all around, especially with it being fully functional.

For the model seen above, print settings included 15% infill and a 0.2-mm layer height. While it was painted for the marbled look, you can skip the hassle and go for marble filament directly.

For ease of printing, this design comes in multiple parts that can be assembled and it even includes options with no socket so you can fit whatever lamp you want. Note that a lower-watt light bulb is recommended to avoid any kind of issues with PLA.

We may have stumbled upon the perfect mix of aesthetics and function. It looks perfect in its marble filament and it’s useful. How often can you say that you own a cool pen holder that holds some history as well? We doubt many can.

The creator must enjoy history to some level because they went out of their way to include a snippet, from the History Channel site, about the man himself, Julius Caesar. With the popularity of this figure, we can tell that the community is a big fan of the functionality and its ease of printing.

For ease of printing, the creator includes two files, one with and the other without supports. And for added entertainment, whenever you add a pen or pencil, you can imagine he’s saying, “Et tu, Brute?”

Mother's Day Sculpture

You can find a lot of different models for Mother’s Day sculptures. This remix caught our eye, and for good reason. A lot of these statues are done in a lot of different materials, yet this one really shines in marble filament.

Printing seems straightforward enough as supports aren’t required, and a 10% infill appeared to work for the maker. There are also a variety of other remixes to choose from, including a voronoi design and one with a lovely inscription in its base.

  • How printable/popular is it? With 30 dazzling makes shared of this remix alone, this is definitely a popular gift.

Atlas Holding Google Mini

We never knew that Atlas played such a big role in supporting Google (Source: CoryMakesThings via Printables)

There’s no denying that this model looks great in marble PLA. The maker did something that we love to hear: They sought out something, saw that it didn’t exist, and then went ahead and made it themselves. They took two models and remixed them into a single model that cradles their Google Mini without breaking a sweat.

The maker didn’t stop there. They went ahead and added some support enforcers to make it so that no supports are needed when printing. Of course, the success of your print will also come down to how dialed in you have your settings on your 3D printer. And while no settings have been shared, two makes show that it can be successfully added to anyone’s study or room.

  • Who designed it? Kula
  • How printable/popular is it? Over 2,000 views, more than 250 downloads, 2 makes, and 2 remixes, are a clear indication that Atlas is holding more than just a couple of devices.
