“Espresso Yourself” is a pop-up singles only cafe which will 3D print your dating profile picture onto the foam of a coffee.

Would you like free coffee and the chance to find true love? If you’re currently in London, you might be in luck. Espresso Yourself is a pop-up cafe in Shoreditch, London who’ve teamed up with dating service Match.

The cafe will be offering singles free coffee. Most noteworthy though is the fact that this free drink will come with your chance at true love. 3D printed onto the foam will be the dating profile picture of a potential date.

Vicki Burtt, is a dating expert from Match. She explained: “More and more of our members are choosing to go on ‘coffee dates’, and scrolling through potential matches is something people often do while they’re queuing for their morning caffeine fix.”

Instead of finding someone online, your coffee will have a 3D print of one of four women and four men. As you drink, you can find out about your match. If you’re interested in their foamy features, you can follow the link on the cup.

How to Find Your True Love (or Simply Grab a Free Coffee)

To join in, you’ll need to choose from a “chappuccino” or a “femmericano”, depending on your preferences. You’ll then be able to read about the interests of your potential partner written on the specially-made coffee cup.

The pictures of potential dates are printed using a Ripples 3D printer. It uses a mixture of 3D and inkjet technology. You’re also likely to be familiar with the printer’s previous uses, such as Wimbledon last year.

If you’d like to jump onto the menu, you can head over to the pop-up and have your face printed onto a “Selffee”. You’ll then be able to give your coffee and face to someone you fancy, preferably in the vicinity.

Burtt continued: “We’re encouraging singles to have the confidence to be bold and put themselves out there in a way they hadn’t before. At the same time, we wanted to make finding a date as simple as ordering a coffee, so we’ve teamed up with six of our members to help make it happen.”

However, you’ll need to act fast. The cafe is only running for two days, today being the last (January 20th). Head over to Shoreditch’s Boxpark if you get the chance. Or you could simply head into your local cafe and ask someone out without a 3D printed gimmick.
