Youtube channel Hydraulic Press just got a 3D Printer. Now they are accepting designs for items to be systematically squished.

Youtube is full of strange channels. One of the newest and fastest growing is Hydraulic Press. The channel does just what the name implies: they crush things with a hydraulic press. Instead of spending years to find a niche following, their popularity catapulted, gaining over 650,000 subscribers and almost 51 million views in seven months.

It all starts with a simple item. A bowling bowl. A deep frozen rubber band ball. A Lego man.

Then the slow motion hydraulic press comes down and squishes it to absolute cathartic perfection.

Though the channel has been growing, it’s easy to see that the maker, Lauri Vuohensilta, is going to have to find exciting new twists to keep viewers coming back for more.

Thanks to MyMiniFactory, the channel just got its very first 3D printer. The printer will initially be used for practical prints. It will create sophisticated safety gear (which a professional stuff squisher desperately needs) as well as support structures for items that are being crushed (check out their Lego video to see why).

Big Change Coming to the Hydraulic Press Channel

The channel made a big announcement earlier this week.

“I am also planning to let people send me earmarks of stuff that they want to be crushed, and then I can just print them out here and crush them and make the video.”

Vuohensilta is now accepting fan-made 3D models. This means, firstly, that fans will get the chance to have real input. Secondly, once designers get wind of this, Vuohensilta is likely to have a lot of crazy things to hydraulic press.

Files must be in .stl format and made with millimeters with a size up to 150 x 150 x 150 mm. He does note that smaller prints are preferred, as they take less time. Models can be sent to hydraulicpresschannel@gmail.com. What would you like to see get crushed?
