An Australian, a frog, and a 3D printer have sparked a viral TikTok series, which is up to 30 episodes and has garnered millions of likes and views.

It all started when TikTok user Dazza posted a short video detailing his 3D printed “house” for a frog living inside his fence. Designed in Fusion 360 and printed on an Original Prusa i3 MK3S+, the original house was a simple one, with not much more than a roof and a few walls. Once the frog moved in, however, the TikTok community came calling, offering ideas and suggestions to improve the design – and giving the frog a name: Frodrick (or “Frod” for short).

Since then, Dazza’s project has spiraled exponentially: Frod and friends now enjoy a patio, a pool, increased “ribbit amplification” on the underside of the roof, and an emergency cave to escape a visiting and potentially dangerous possum – which only wanted a drink from Frod’s pool and has since been named King Julien. That’s not all: subsequent designs and additions to Frod’s house include a bug attractor for food, a pond, and a tadpole ramp for Frod’s offspring.

“I’m amazed at the reaction; it’s honestly ridiculous,” Dazza wrote, after All3DP reached out for comment.

He also hinted at new projects on the horizon: “I think there are more 3D things to make,” he wrote. That’s no small wonder, seeing as he’s now up to 619,000 followers and counting.
