Hong Kong-based OEM Peopoly has announced the Phenom XXL V2, an LCD-based resin 3D printer that will feature a range of new features designed for easier use and higher-quality results than its predecessor, the Phenom XXL.

The Phenom XXL V2 shares the same massive 527 x 296 x 550 mm build volume with the Phenom XXL – the largest printer in the company’s Phenom series and a machine well-suited to high-volume production and oversized models.

New to the Phenom XXL V2 is an improved LED array with more-focused light that is higher in intensity, requiring less power and resulting in higher-resolution prints faster and at cooler temperatures. A redesigned power system, meanwhile, takes advantage of the LED array and therefore enjoys an increase in energy efficiency, noise output, and stability.

Leveraging a Vlare Core board – on which Peopoly’s Phenom Forge also runs – the Phenom XXL V2 claims to achieve faster processing times per layer, multi-zone exposure for stronger support structures, open file format support, and offers a Wi-Fi connection. The printer will also feature a 7-inch touchscreen, an industrial-grade 4K panel, an infrared camera for remote monitoring and management, and removable panels for easy maintenance.

While the Phenom XXL V2 may be a bit outside the consumer’s gaze thanks to its price point ($8,999), it seems to be yet another impressive release from Peopoly, which counts among its ranks the Moai desktop laser-SLA machine and, of course, the original Phenom printer.

Pre-orders are currently up on the Peopoly website, enabling users to purchase the Phenom XXL V2 at a temporarily reduced price ($8,499).
