Markforged customers will now have access to MSC Software Corporation’s sophisticated simulation software, including their Finite Element Analysis.

With a database of materials, detailing their properties and performance, users are able to digitally stress test proposed designs and analyze mechanical and structural performance. Markforged and MSC claim they can fully simulate a new workflow and identify failure areas, increasing workplace safety.

The collaboration is a result of demand for pre-print performance validation capabilities from Markforged users. MSC’s process simulations allow users to determine the best print calibration and discover a part’s full potential without ever having to print a prototype, thus reducing waste and cost.

By these methods, users will be able to digitally determine which of their traditionally manufactured parts they can replace with Markforged 3D printed parts and materials.
