Mango 3D has released an update that brings new features, bug fixes, and printer support to both resin and filament versions of Lychee Slicer.

First up is projection support for Pro and Premium resin slicer users. The new tool, meant for flat or mechanical surfaces, prepares surfaces for support in just “a few clicks” by defining support areas through 3D painting or automatic surface detection while accounting for and avoiding any holes. Users can also use their own support presets for outlines and infills.

Another new feature – also for Pro and Premium resin users – targets the generation of 3D hollows and holes with Lychee Slicer’s “Prepare” workspace. This will allow supports to be placed through holes, among other uses. Users can also opt to keep hole caps – or create them as separate objects – should holes need resealing.

Capping things off on the resin front is a feature for Free, Pro, and Premium users that enables copy-pasting settings for supports (such as tip size or base type) and holes (such as size or penetration parameters). This is accomplished the typical way: CTRL-C on a selected support or hole, CTRL-V on those the user wants to change.

A final feature targets Free, Pro and Premium users of Lychee Slicer’s filament version, which is still in public beta. With it, users can wirelessly export G-code files directly to printers running Octoprint and Klipper, as well as launch and monitor prints from within the application itself.

The update also brings several improvements to overall slicer usability – a paging system in Lychee Slicer’s history for easier navigation, for example – as well as support for resin and filament machines from Elegoo, Phrozen, Peopoly, Creality, and Sovol. You can find the full list of printers, as well as full details of the update, on Mango 3D’s blog post. Additionally, you can attend a free livestream that will showcase the new features in action on June 2 at 3 PM EST.
