If you’re an additive manufacturing professional, how can you guarantee a printed part is safe enough for a jet engine or a medical implant? This critical question of trust, qualification, and certification is one of the biggest hurdles the industry faces today. From Oct. 6-10, some of the world’s leading experts are gathering in Las Vegas at the ASTM International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing (ICAM) to forge the answers, and their solutions could change how everything is made.

With conference sessions, including “Quality Assurance for Additive Manufacturing” and “Building Out Your DfAM Skills”, the aim isn’t just to keep up with the latest AM innovations — but to understand how to implement them effectively and reliably.

ICAM is set to take place at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. Hosted by the ASTM International Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE), the event will bring together a global gathering of experts from industry, academia, and government to discuss the latest advancements in the field, with a strong emphasis on the transition of research into practical, real-world applications through standardization.

It provides a platform to address industry-specific needs while covering the fundamental aspects of advanced manufacturing processes. A unique feature of ICAM is its focus on standardization, qualification, and certification across the entire advanced manufacturing value chain. This focus is supported by the involvement of over a dozen ASTM technical committees, highlighting the conference’s commitment to advancing the industry through the development of robust standards.
