BigTreeTech has recently launched two new 3D printer displays. The HDMI5 and HDMI7 are versatile multi-touch panels that can be used to operate your 3D printer. As the names suggest, the displays are 5-inch and 7-inch – both IPS. They include HDMI ports and audio jacks, and are large enough to use for other purposes.

Big, colorful, and bright the displays work particularly well with BigTreeTech’s Manta and CB1 boards (also new products), which can combine to run Klipper firmware. The Raspberry Pi is also easily compatible, plugging into the display’s HDMI port. High-resolution displays like this are a serious upgrade from the previous low-resolution LCDs we’ve seen on printers thus far.

The HDMI7 has a resolution of 1024×600, and the HDMI6 has a resolution of 800×480. The display draws power via USB so there’s little cabling needed, which is pretty convenient.

At $39.49 the HDMI5 is slightly cheaper than the $59.75 HDMI7. The screens are already available to order from Biqu’s website, with reviews stating that the HDMI7:

“Looks and works as expected… I ordered one for my printer but instead, maybe I will use it for another project, or order one more. The audio jack feature gave me ideas beyond using it as a 3d printer display.”

The screens might then be useful for people interested in a multi-dexterous tool that could be used for several different projects as well as leisure activities.
