It's that warm and cozy season where only a certain type of warm beverage will do. Cookiecad knew that, and capitalized on it.
As the vicious chill of the cold season begins to bite, we crave sweaters, we crave coziness, and we crave a warm, comforting brew. Despite being struck down by the curse of lactose intolerance to the point where a block of butter may as well be a block of C4, I do love a pumpkin spiced latte — as long as the Starbucks barista is happy to make it with oat milk.
There’s something a bit special about sipping that warm, spiced blend out of a cup marked “Jomni” at this time of the year. But, there’s always been something missing. I felt it in my heart, something wasn’t right. I needed a filament to go with it. Well, for the sake of decent editorial storytelling I did, anyway.

Cookiecad thinks we need a filament to match as well, so it released a special limited-edition pumpkin spice scented PLA blend for that late fall/early winter period of the year. Spiced Priced at $34.95, the 1 kg spools were gone in a flash, so there’s sadly no chance of getting one now until next fall, but is this a sign of things to come?
Kexcelled has also just release some pleasantly-scented filaments. Thanks to them, tea, coffee, and bamboo can all be enjoyably whiffed while printing. Does that mean more scented filaments are on the horizon? If so, which scents would you like to smell? I have three — 98 octane Super Unleaded, Bailey’s, and whatever Cartier “Pasha” perfume is. Cartier PLA, imagine that!
Clearly scented filaments are something the 3D printed community has an interest in. Tecnikoa makes a mosquito-repelling citronella filament, as well as others, and Protopasta sold a Holiday Pine filament not all that long ago. Canadians can get a pumpkin spiced filament here, by the way.
Anyway, to kick off the week, we thought we’d ask you what smells you want to print with. You can have your say below, and if you leave a comment adding more to the conversation, I might even write back.
