Essentially an open-ended OpenSCAD window, the tool allows users to easily adjust parametric models' size, shape, content, and more.

Another modeling tool has moved into Bambu Lab’s MakerWorld repository: a parametric model maker that seems to be an open-ended OpenSCAD window.

OpenSCAD is an open-source application for 3D modeling that uses code to create “parametric models”, the shapes and features of which can be very precisely controlled.

While the newly introduced (and aptly named) Parametric Model Maker won’t give you the programming experience you may need to fully leverage OpenSCAD, it does make adjusting the parametric models you can create with it much easier, offering real-time adjustments, instant model previews, and an export to STL or 3MF function.

From our short time with it, Parametric Model Maker seems to deliver on its promise. It allows us to customize a sample design by quickly changing text content, size, and alignment, swapping or adding “emojis”, and more – no programming skills required.

Bambu Lab also says Parametric Model Maker “will be further integrated into MakerWorld very soon”, and encourages those skilled in OpenSCAD to share their designs on the platform. In the meantime, head over to MakerWorld and start using the new tool.
