Here’s one for the Trekkies. A new mod has appeared on Printables that allows users to join the collective and transform their Bambu Lab P1P printer into a Borg Cube.

The design is a multipart print that, when assembled, acts as a shell for the P1P – and results in a highly detailed, screen-accurate representation of the iconic starship used by the villainous Borg in the “Star Trek” franchise.

There are optional doors, as well, that entrancingly fold up and outward to open, and down and inward to close, plus a version that’s compatible with the official Bambu Lab lid. Users can also separately purchase and install a green LED light strip that produces an interior glowing effect, further bolstering the sci-fi vibes.

The Borg Cube P1P Mod’s outer shell predominantly uses black PLA or PETG filament – the design’s creator, neil3dprints, recommends black PETG  – with a green PETG inner shell that requires a bit of post-processing. All parts are printable on a P1P, with the corner parts most effectively created using the printer’s slowest setting.

Those looking to “make it so” can find full assembly instructions, a parts list, STLs, and additional photos on the Borg Cube mod’s Printables pages. To avoid licensing issues, it has been uploaded into two parts. Here’s part one and part two.
