Anycubic's S1 Max has been announced, and should land on the workbenches of makers just before the end of the year.
Anycubic has unveiled the next printer in its flagship range. As the name suggests, the Kobra S1 Max is a more expansive S1, a powerful machine designed to impress both professionals and enthusiasts seeking for that tempting formula of roomier than average build space and exotic material compatibility.
Combining a large 350 x 350 x 350 mm build volume with high-speed CoreXY performance and the new multicolor, multi-material ACE 2 Pro filament management system, the Kobra S1 Max Combo is now available for early bird reservation via deposit.
The build volume is larger than average (the Prusa CoreOne L boasts 300 x 300 x 330 mm and the new Bambu Lab H2S is 340×320×340) and is paired with some performance figures that are becoming somewhat commonplace in contemporary consumer 3D printers. The machine boasts a maximum print speed of 600 mm/s (though the default speed is 300 mm/s — still quick, but more realistic) and an acceleration potential of 20,000 mm, which should ensure large parts are completed at a pace you might consider on par with this machine’s supposed rivals.

Engineering-grade material handling is also becoming expected nowadays. A core feature of the Kobra S1 Max is its ability to handle the more challenging, high-performance filaments like PC, nylon, carbon-fiber filled materials, and more — not to mention the usual spool suspects: ASA, ABS, PLA. The hot end is capable of a very high 350 ºC, which is supported by a 120 ºC heated print bed.
Crucial to the production of quality exotic filaments is a heated chamber, and the S1 Max can warm its printing environment to 65 ºC, which should prevent annoying warping and guarantee better layer adhesion. And don’t worry, a hardened steel nozzle comes with the printer, which can cope with the heat and abrasive nature of many high-performance materials.
Regarding the ACE 2 Pro filament management system, we are still waiting further details. It is clearly going to be the company’s next gen material manager, but precisely what has been upgraded or changed has not yet been disclosed. We do know the S1 Max can handle up to a maximum of 16 spools, which will presumably be four ACE 2 Pro managers connected up. Another nice touch we’ve spotted in the specs is that the camera within the build chamber has been upgraded to 720p, stepping up from the S1’s 480p.
Enthusiasts and professionals interested in the new Kobra S1 Max Combo can take advantage of Anycubic’s launch promotion. A $50 deposit placed during the early bird period turns into a $100 discount on the final purchase price. The full payment period begins from Nov. 25th, with shipments commencing shortly thereafter in the order that full payments are received. Prices will begin at $799, rising to $999 come Feb. 2026. Whether those prices rises actually happen is another question, however.
