Would you like to know about 3D printing events, workshops and meetups happening in your area? We have recommendations for the weeks ahead.
As the the change of seasons continue, the world is brimming with events, meetups, and exhibitions. Here’re some of the bigger shows, and a healthy mix of small maker meetups.
The 3D Print Conference in France is back for a second year, after a great turnout in 2014. On September 15th and 16th, Professionals will be gathering in Lyon to learn, share and exchange. The exhibit is dedicated to professionals in the field, and includes a very specially tailored program. The exhibits will cover all steps of additive manufacturing and all the latest technologies. Entrance is free for those who pre-register. However, tickets can also be purchased at the door for €55.
From the 15th to 17th, Asiamold will be going strong in Guangzhou, China. The exhibit focuses entirely on mold and die industry. They will also be featuring a 3D Manufacturing Zone. Firms in rapid prototyping, software developers and engravers are among the specialized fields they’ll be showcasing. They even have a list detailing exactly what you’ll find at their fair. Admission is free for those 18 years and up. If you want to skip the line, you should think about pre-registering.
Similarly, Europe will be holding its own mold-centered exhibition in Dusseldorf from September 22nd – 25th. Tickets start at €20 and are good for exhibits and/or conferences. Euromold will include an entire section dedicated to the world of additive manufacturing. Best of all, they’ll be holding special conferences on printing for the future.
In Breda, Netherlands, on September 23rd, the local 3D hub will be holding a 3D scanner party, including snacks and the chance to scan (more or less) whatever your little heart desires. Files will be published to SketchFab Tickets will cost €5.
If you’re in the SLC-area on September 25th, you can join the Hub community for a 3D printing workshop. You can learn the basics of modeling, calibrating your printer, different methods of printing and maybe even how to build your own printer.
Make: Magazine’s 6th annual World Maker Faire will be hitting NY on September 16th and 27th. Described as “part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new,” the faire is family-friendly and focuses on sharing the energy and spark of being part of the maker community. Engineers, tinkerers and enthusiasts will be coming together to share their greatest creations and lessons. The faire sounds like a real whirlwind, and is set to include all manner of exhibits and attractions. Yes, you can even volunteer in exchange for a day pass! This may be tempting considering that adult tickets start at $35.
