3D printer manufacturer Raise3D started with its crowdfunding success story, securing $445,892 from 348 backers on Kickstarter in late 2015.

The US-based company currently offers two 3D printer lines (N2, Pro2) to suit any project, boasting some of the largest build volumes available along with a fully enclosed design – which brings us to the Raise 3D N2 Plus.

Whereas the N2 will give you a build volume of 12 x 12 x 12 inches (305mm x 305mm x 305mm), the Raise3D N2 Plus ramps that up to 12 x 12 x 24 inches  (305 x 305 x 610mm).

This and its printing quality made it the Best Large Format 3D Printer Summer 2018 at All3DP.

Of course, a build size like this needs a proper heat management, especially if you are printing with more demanding materials. So the core design of the range is a fully enclosed build platform combined with a heated print bed, making it a great printer for ABS or Nylon material.

The material options with Raise3D printers include industry standards like PLA and ABS but also specialty filaments such as PETG and HIPS.

Each Raise3D printer also features an onboard battery backup so in the event of a power failure the printer will pause the current project and store its progress before shutting down.

All their printers ship fully assembled.

Review the Main Features

The Raise3D N2 Plus has a huge build volume of 12in x 12in x 24in (305 x 305 x 610mm). Additionally, the entire printer is fully enclosed with a sturdy aluminum metal frame and ABS, acrylic, and polycarbonate casing.

The fully enclosed design not only improves print quality when printing with materials such as ABS but also greatly enhances the safety of the printer, making the N2 Plus a great fit for schools and businesses.

Printing with a Raise3D N2 Plus 3D printer is especially user-friendly due to a 7-inch full-color touchscreen which allows for complete device control as well as print monitoring and fine-tuning during a print. The functionality of this screen can also be accessed via Wifi over a LAN setup, meaning you can control your Raise3D printer from anywhere in your home or office.

The touchscreen is also integrated with the N2’s print resuming feature, allowing you to immediately resume a print that was interrupted due to a power outage or accidental shut-off.

The Raise 3D N2 Plus comes stock with a heated bed and their V2 Hot End capable of temperatures up to 300 C. This makes the N2 compatible with almost any material currently available, including PLA, ABS, PETG, Nylon, Carbon Fiber, TPU/TPE (Flexibles), and Metal Composites (with the upgrade to a wear resistant nozzle).

Important to note is that the Raise3D N2 Plus does not come with dual extrusion as standard. For those folks who need dual extrusion, the Raise 3D N2 Dual is your best bet. With dual extrusion, you can print with two different colors at the same time, or pair one material with a dissolvable support material like PVA and HIPS. With soluble support, you can print complex models with ease.

Besides, the company offers a regular Raise 3D N2 and a version with with dual extrusion (Raise 3D N2 Dual). Finally, you can have a combo of dual-extrusion and bigger build volume with the (Raise 3D N2 Plus Dual).
