This past week at CES 2018, Shining 3D unveiled new accessories and software for its EinScan 3D scanning system. The company also announced a partnership with TechMed 3D, a leader in human body scanning technology.

Last week, technological innovations of all shapes and sizes were on display at CES 2018, the annual consumer tech trade show that takes place in Las Vegas. There were a number of exciting announcements in the 3D printing and 3D scanning sector, some of which came from the Hangzhou-based company Shining 3D.

During the event, Shining 3D unveiled new accessories and software for its EinScan 3D scanning system. Additionally, the company announced a new partnership with TechMed 3D. The deal will lead to the development of a new 3D scanner designed to capture parts of the human body.

Shining 3D Upgrades EinScan System with New Accessories and Software

Shining 3D is releasing two special packs in order to upgrade its EinScan 3D scanner range. The EinScan Discovery Pack, which improves the SE and SP model, offers more color and accuracy.

Integrating the color restoration technology of Ultra-Fine Hardware ISP video processing engine, the pack enables users to capture more vibrant color and high-fidelity textures. The Discovery Pack is ideal for use with virtual reality, online shopping virtual displays, online museums, and other applications.

The EinScan HD Prime Pack, released for the EinScan-Pro+, accelerates the scan speed of the Handheld HD Scan Mode, while also capturing more details in objects. Increasing scanning speed by 30 percent, this pack makes the entire scanning process faster.

Users can also capture more details without having to use markers while in in Handheld HD Scan Mode. This upgrade is ideal for cultural heritage preservation, archiving, restoration, and other similar applications.

Aside from the new packs, Shining 3D is also rolling out its updated EinScan Software V2.6. There’s a variety of new features that will improve the 3D scanning process. This includes enhanced color reproduction, new hybrid alignment, global registration optimization, and more simple software operation.

Shining 3D is clearly focused on refining its existing EinScan 3D scanning range, both in the form of application-specific advancements and performance upgrades.

Partnership with TechMed 3D Brings Scanning Technology to the Human Body

The Chinese 3D scanning company also announced a new partnership with TechMed 3D, a leader in human body scanning technology. Shining 3D will develop a customized EinScan-Pro 3D scanner, which will be specialized for scanning human body parts.

The exclusive version of the scanner will be reengineered by shorting the scanning distance and narrowing the scanning range. This will enable users to capture high-accuracy data when scanning small body parts, such as human hands or feet.

Needless to say, Shining 3D seems to be going full steam ahead into 2018. The company is polishing up the EinScan 3D scanner line with new upgrade packs, software updates, and a partnership that will help solidify the company’s place in the medical sector.
