1,000 hours to handcraft the original, waaaay less to 3D print one.

The Scarab Vase, a masterpiece by porcelain artist Adelaide Alsop Robineau, is the subject of a new exhibition at the Everson Museum of Art in N.Y. called "Touching History" that pairs the original with a replica scanned and printed by Budmen Industries using a proprietary 3D printer and "nylon-like resin". In a practice that more museums are turning to, visitors can now touch and better appreciate the art object, rather than just viewing it behind glass.
