Summertime Art
by Carolyn Schwaar Jul 22, 2025
Candy ribbons, ocean waves on a coral reef, or maybe cloud formations at sunset.

Whatever it's reminiscent of, the 3D printed architectural experiment by the arts foundation Origen and the university ETH Zurich unveiled in the small Swiss village of Mulegns is beautiful. Students designed and built an ice cream shop featuring hanging 3D printed ribbons made from recycled PETG using robotic arm 3D printers. Printed at the university's impressive Robotic Fabrication Lab, the massive instillation weights less than one tonne. Check out more details over at Designboom.
