3D Printed in the Wild
by Carolyn Schwaar Feb 26, 2025
Finally, a 3D printed surfboard that makes sense.

Of all the 3D printed surfboard projects I've followed over the years, this one from Funner Surf Craft is the first I'd actually consider buying — if I surfed. The 3D printed part (recycled plastic) is purposeful and highly functional while the board is eco-friendly forgoing the usual foam for Balsa wood. It's zero-waste and environmentally nontoxic, but also, the company says, enhances surfing performance. Check out this great write-up in Surfer magazine.
