Aimed at large-volume dental labs, the new DentaJet XL resin 3D printer from Stratasys can print more models faster, reducing cost per part by up to 67% compared to the company’s previous machines, Stratasys said in its release.

Using Stratasys’ proprietary PolyJet technology, which uses a wide range of proprietary resin materials, the DantaJet XL also features larger resin cartridges, a large print tray, and a new “Super High-Speed” mode (for aligner arches only) all designed to improve productivity and efficiency.

“The Stratasys DentaJet XL solution is engineered specifically for digital dental labs that must deliver high volumes of applications without sacrificing quality, helping them overcome significant challenges in finding and retaining qualified technicians as they work to meet growing market demand,” says Ronen Lebi, vice president of Stratasys Dental.

Target parts for the DentaJet XL are the same as the other printers in the DentaJet series: models for crowns and bridges, implants, clear aligner arches, try-ins, impression trays, and surgical guides.

Software that enables more automation and click-and-print modes are becoming more common in the road to higher usability in 3D printers.

The DentaJet XL’s print prep and print management features, along with integrated fleet management through Stratasys GrabCAD Print software, enables labs to reduce up to 90% of their labor costs, Stratasys says. There are also new validated, fast and large batch post processing workflows for support removal.

The new printers PolyJet technology enables printing with two materials simultaneously. Unlike the company’s J5 DentaJet 3D printer the DentaJet XL is not a full-color solution. Currently, the listed materials include Med610 Bio-compatible material, VeroGlaze Med620, and VeroDent  PureWhite. There’s also the SUP711S proprietary gel-like support material.
