May 28 is the Kickstarter launch day of the new Revopoint Trackit. Here's all you need to know.
The Kickstarter campaign for the game-changing Revopoint Trackit 3D scanner is now live, and the first 100 super early bird backers can get one for just $2,899, a hefty 40% reduction on its $4,980 MSRP.
Interest in the Trackit is high as it offers attractive markerless scanning capabilities by pairing a large stationary optical unit with a handheld scanner encased within marker-dot covered housing. The optical unit has a 4-meter range and tracks the scanning unit, which eliminates the need to place markers directly onto objects.
It’s no secret to anyone who’s used 3D scanners that marking up objects can be a time consuming task, so the Trackit’s markerless scanning capability is truly landscape-disruptive. You can also use the Trackit exclusively as a handheld scanner too – though objects will then need marking up, of course. Using and transporting the Trackit is made easier by the reassurance of a one-piece carbon fiber frame that offers protection against bumps the Trackit might receive during these scenarios.

The Trackit offers two scanning modes allowing for efficient small to large object scanning. One features 30 blue laser cross-lines intended for larger surfaces and the other is a single-laser mode for improved capturing of deep holes and grooves. Trackit’s flexibility has been demonstrated by scanning a beefed-up Ford Raptor truck, and smaller objects such as statues and crash helmets.

Automatic Gimbal Calibration also eliminates errors from the manual calibration process through an intelligent system that ensures precise results with minimal effort. The fully automated calibration process takes only 25 minutes and reduces user errors common in manual calibration. Compared to other tracking 3D scanners, this approach improves calibration efficiency by over 50%.

Captures are performed quickly too, with the Trackit being capable of mapping 1.5-million points per second. Details as fine as 0.02 mm can be captured, and the completed scans are immediately ready for dimensional inspection and scan-to-CAD conversions.

Here’s some more great news – every Trackit Kickstarter backer will receive a free 1-year license to our upcoming Revo Measure software. This measurement and analysis software support, among other things, support point cloud and mesh to CAD comparisons, measurements, parameter extraction, volume measurement, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) analysis.
You can also fully automate and streamline repetitive quality control and inspection tasks with the Trackit Robot 3D Scanning System. Set up automated scans in minutes using the robot’s intuitive drag-to-teach feature to demonstrate the scanning path, or leverage its CAD-to-path and vision-to-path automation to let the robot intelligently determine the optimal scanning strategy for each workpiece.
With only 100 super early bird slots available, backers are encouraged to act quickly if they wish to secure the $2,899 price. The 100 slots available are expected to be filled quickly!
