Czech 3D printing giant Prusa Research yesterday announced the impending release of new Prusament Refill, a matte black version of its PETG filament, and multiple new resins.

Prusament Refill is a master spool filament refill system that enables users to remove the sides from an empty spool of Prusament and attach them to a refill spool that is wound on a spool core – making the refill process more environmentally friendly. Available now are Prusament PLA Prusa Galaxy Black Refill and Prusament PETG Jet Black Refill.

Prusa Research will also release its new Matte Black PETG, which ups the aesthetic qualities of the material, while retaining its “…mechanical properties and ease of use.” More matte colors are set for release the near future too, with the matte black option available later this month via Prusa Research’s eshop.

Also set for release are several new resins. Available now in three colors, BioBased60 is “a resin with the highest proportion of renewable ingredients on the market which makes no compromises in the level of detail or speed” – with 60% of its composition “made up of ingredients derived from natural sources.”

Prusament Flex80, meanwhile, which enables users to “print flexible objects on SLA 3D printers” – as will additional colors for Prusa Research’s Tough resin – will be available “in the near future,” according to the company’s blog.
