Prusa Core One Kits Are Now Available
Priced at $949, the kits' arrival will undoubtedly be exciting news for many who are eager to build a fully enclosed CoreXY machine of their own.
Prusa Research’s DIY assembly kits for its new Core One 3D printer are now available for purchase.
Priced at $949 and currently estimated to begin shipping in March, the Core One is a fully enclosed, CoreXY machine with a 250 x 220 x 270 mm build volume. All told, it looks to be a marked upgrade from the MK4S, despite using many of the same parts.
Owners of the MK4S need not worry, however: an upgrade path, in the form of a $449 kit, is also available. Converting the MK4S to a Core One requires quite a bit of disassembly and reassembly – it is, after all, a full kinematic conversion – but Prusa says the result is a machine that is smaller in body, bigger in build volume, and faster to boot.
Our first impressions of the pre-assembled Core One so far reflect that claim – and are highly positive all-around, although expect a bit of a wait until we’re ready to post a full review.
The Core One kit’s release should be pleasant news to many users. Our recent poll, for example, revealed that 35% of respondents interested in purchasing a Core One were holding out until kits were available. Well, folks, now that day has come.
