Now out of closed beta, Elegoo is lauching an "alliance rewards" cash incentive program to really get its new repository off the ground.
Elegoo’s new 3D model repository, Nexprint, is now in open beta after soft launching earlier this year. Better yet, the company is vying for original uploads with a cash incentive program backed by a million-dollar “creator fund”.
Nexprint is set up about as you would expect. An infinite scroll of models on the main page, and categorization elsewhere. There’s already a contest for home storage designs (“Reorganize Your Home“) that rewards Elegoo gift cards from $300 to $40, and a point system that rewards Nexprint points (though the redemption system is still under development). Under your profile, there are collections, browsing & download histories, slicer imports to Elegoo Slicer & Orca Slicer – all the standard repository stuff.
The website will feature “open-source model aggregation” that searches for models “across Thingiverse, Printables, MakerWorld, and more,” Elegoo has said. Though that doesn’t appear to be the case just yet, the company confirmed it’s still the plan, and has asserted it will generally be a repository targeting open-source 3D models. For now, the incentives are the juicy bit.

“Alliance rewards” is Elegoo’s million-dollar upload cash incentive program running until August 31. But from September, “the total available reward amount will be renewed on the first day of each month.” Though the total up for grabs will equal a million dollars, the monthly fund will be “adjusted dynamically”, Elegoo representatives Frankie Wang and Ryan Wang told All3DP.
Through alliance rewards, contributors of “approved” models will receive $5, with no cap on monthly submissions. Criteria to have a model approved are that it’s an original or remix, includes a cover image that is a real photo of a physically printed model (no renders, slicer previews, AI-generated images, or otherwise non-printed visuals, Elegoo says). Submitting a print profile is “recommended”, the company says, but it’s unclear whether that has any bearing on model approval, or whether approval is at all subjective.
Where things are definitely subjective is Elegoo’s “exceptional design” bonus of an extra $5 and featured placement on the platform. What makes a design exception? “We will judge the designs in terms of practical value, structure complexity, originality, content presentation, etc”, Elegoo says.
Finally, users can earn from the fund by inviting users to the platform via the “Creation Alliance”. The bonus here starts at $3, but is tiered. For every 5 new users added to your alliance, your reward will increase by $5. Users can invite up to 25 new users and earn up to $100 a month, and the tier resets every month.
Interestingly, models on other platforms aren’t barred from the incentive – so long as they’re uploaded by the original creator. “Nexprint does not require exclusive rights, and therefore does not interfere with the sale or commercial use of uploaded models on other platforms.”
Alliance rewards run for one year, Elegoo says, so if you’re looking to cash in on your 3D models, Nexprint is looking like a good option.
