Dry More, Create More With Creality’s SpacePi X4
Dry and print with up to four filaments at once with the new SpacePi X4 – the ultimate 3D printing multi-filament storage system.
As an ever greater number of multicolor, multi-material capable 3D printers hit the market, filament storage is more important than ever. The SpacePi X4 is to date the most advanced filament storage system Creality has created, with space for up to four 1 kg filaments, or two 2 kg filaments. It’s even compatible with both 1.75 and 2.85 mm filaments.
The SpacePi X4 contains two independently heated chambers, each capable of heating up to 85 °C. This ensures your filament retains its optimum condition for as long as possible, and by doing so, means you can produce high-quality prints all the way from the start to the finish of the spool. The independence of the chambers also gives users the flexibility to keep two different filaments at two different temperatures.
Dual-dehumidification fans operate with a special one-way valve design, in order to prevent expelled moisture-tainted air from returning into the device. As for the desiccant, its chamber connects directly to the heated airflow, meaning the desiccant doesn’t require changing, it is simply “recharged” during each running of the machine. The heated air is optimized for full 360 degree airflow too, ensuring that every part of the filament comes into contact with the warm air, and the material is thoroughly treated.
When the drying program is run, the SpacePi X4 keeps things quiet by reducing the activity of the fans following it hitting the requested temperature. When the drying program is complete, you’ll know about it – the SpacePi X4 can notify you with a soft audio or the dimming of its lights. It’ll also make suggestions to you via the 3.2-inch touchscreen, informing you of its drying recommendations, as well as a place to edit the settings and monitor the device in real time, all via the intuitive interface.
Creality has also taken care to make sure safety is prioritized. The SpacePi X4 features triple safety protection, and intelligently self-checks for early detection of issues, making sure you experience safe and worry-free drying. Should the fan speed become interrupted or show abnormal readings, it’ll pause. The PTC fuse disconnects when unusually high temperatures are detected, and reconnects when normal parameters are resumed. Lastly, the sensor at the air outlet will pause automatic drying if temperatures detected are abnormal.
The SpacePi X4 also makes for a great place to store filament even when its heated chambers aren’t in action. It has a moisture-proof sealing design and a sliding lock, meaning filaments are well protected even if the device isn’t plugged in and running.
With space for up to four spools, two independently heated chambers, active safety features, and a temperature range of 45-85 °C, if you’re using PLA or engineering-grade PA, PAHT, or PC, the SpacePi X4 will always make sure your spools are ready for their next print.
