Under the program, designers can earn "passive income" – which amounts to points redeemable on Creality’s e-shop.

Creality has launched a new incentive program for free models on its Creality Cloud online repository, under which designers can earn rewards and generate “passive income”.

Designers will receive points from uploading free models and print profiles, as well as each time a user successfully downloads and prints a model with the designer’s provided print settings. There is no limit to the points designers can earn, which can be redeemed for credit on Creality’s e-shop, with 100 points equaling $1.

Points can also be earned via “boosts” from users, who earn “boost tickets” for platform activity. Using a boost ticket on a designer offers users the chance to spin a “Lucky Wheel” – also referred to as a “Lucky Draw” – for 3D printing-related prizes.

For reference, designers earn 100 points for each boost and 100 points for every 10 times one of their models is downloaded. However, as downloads increase, so do points earned. Creality’s post announcing the program breaks down the structure in detail.

There are other ways to earn points, too. You can take this quiz, for instance, which allows users to earn up to 300 points. No official word, but we’d assume there will be more points-earning opportunities like this on the horizon.

Overall, it’s a lot to take in – with a lot of program-specific language and numbers. We’d recommend checking out Creality Cloud user Davids IT Garage’s post breaking down the incentive program, as it seems to offer a bit more clarity than the actual announcement itself. There’s also another post from Creality further breaking down the program’s benefits.
