Anycubic has pulled back the thin curtain on its previously teased “multi-color 3D Printing breakthrough” – and it is indeed a Kobra 3-MMU combo.

Dubbed the Color Engine Pro, the unit will enable users to print with up to eight colors, feature RFID recognition of Anycubic filaments, and an “active drying” function that works to dry filament during printing.

No other pricing or official specs are available at this time. However, the Color Engine Pro’s reveal comes as one part of Anycubic’s 2024 roadmap, which also includes a new addition to the OEM’s Photon series of resin 3D printers with the Photon Mono M7 and M7 Pro. Anycubic says the machines will be capable of 14K resolution and print speeds of up to 130 mm/h.

The M7 Pro will also feature “intelligent assistant support” driven by “AI vision, motion control, and motor control”, which aims to increase print speeds, quality, and reliability and make printing easier for beginners.

Also set for the future is a collaboration with Pantone for an exclusive line of 3D printing filament, and enhancements to Anycubic Slicer and Photon Workshop that will bring features such as multicolor model slicing – seemingly just in time for the Color Engine Pro – real-time print monitoring, and remote control functionalities to the software platforms.

Anycubic’s website, meanwhile, is due for a revamp that should be implemented in mid-April, and a 3D printing design challenge will launch on the (maybe too familiar-looking) Makeronline community on April 15.

The full roadmap is outlined in Anycubic’s press release. Although, as stated, full details are relatively scarce at this point. But we’ll keep you posted on any further updates.
