Anycubic Announces Two New Photon Mono Series 3D Printers
The Photon Mono 4 and Mono 4 Ultra bear quite a few similarities, but differ mainly in speed, as well as a few higher-end features on the Ultra.
Anycubic has introduced the Photon Mono 4 series of 3D printers: a two-machine lineup consisting of the Mono 4 and Mono 4 Ultra.
Both printers have the same 153.4 x 87 x 165 mm build volume and a 10K LCD mask with a claimed XY resolution of 17 x 17 μm.
Anycubic says the Mono 4 will be able to reach speeds of around 50 mm/hour with standard resins and 70 mm/hour with high-speed resins. To do so, the machine will leverage Anycubic’s LightTurbo matrix light source, which the company says can achieve light uniformity of between 80-90%.
Users will control the printer via a 2.8-inch touchscreen and transfer files via USB. It will carry a price tag of $189.
The Photon Mono 4 Ultra is essentially an upgraded version of the Mono 4. It uses a COB light source, as well as a “Light Uniformity Algorithm”, which works to more effectively control light during printing, achieving light uniformity of more than 90% and thereby boosting accuracy. It’s also faster than the Mono 4, able to hit claimed speeds of up to 80 mm/hour with standard resins and 120 mm/hour with high-speed resins.
There are also a few higher-end features on the Mono 4 Ultra when compared to the Mono 4. It has a larger, 4.3-inch touchscreen, for example, and features ACF release film (instead of the Mono 4’s FEP) for faster jumping between layers. In addition to USB, users will be able to transfer files via Wi-Fi, the Anycubic app, and LAN – although the latter won’t be present on release.
A separately purchasable activated carbon air purifier will be available for both printers.
Anycubic has yet to share the pricing on the Photon Mono 4 Ultra, but we do know that the printers will hit Amazon as early as September 16 and Anycubic’s webstore from September 26. So, not too long to wait for confirmation there.
The Photon Mono 4 series launches smack-dab in the middle of Anycubic 9th-anniversary celebrations, which sees discounts and bundle deals on many of the company’s printers and materials.
