Small and Grand!

As you might have guessed, this isn’t a list of models strictly printable on the Anycubic Photon. Instead, the models in this list are specifically curated designs that highlight the capabilities of the Photon. There are so many models to choose from, so we decided to list five categories of models that are fantastic subjects to print, as well as a few example designs that would be great first choices.

All the selected models can be scaled down while maintaining the original details, and have been successfully printed on an Anycubic Photon just like yours. Don’t belittle the little. In this case, tiny detail is the most impressive.

Beautiful Buildings

Building models are spectacular subjects to print on the Anycubic Photon, especially when they include a sufficient amount of detail. While your FDM printer may not be able to give the trees, turrets, or gates justice, you won’t have to sweat it with your DLP printer. The Photon can capture tiny details that will knock your socks off.

If you look for building models to print on ThingiverseMyMiniFactory, or a similar site, you’ll be met with hundreds of options.

You’ll find big buildings, little buildings, bridges, towers, cathedrals, and cottages. Here are just three awesome buildings that have been successfully printed on the Anycubic Photon and would be excellent additions to your collection:

Medieval Castle

  • Who designed it? boldmachines
  • Who printed it? Over a dozen of the 200 makes of this model have been printed on SLA or DLP printers. Your Photon is sure to do an amazing job as well!
  • Where to find it? Thingiverse

Eiffel Tower

  • Who designed it? Newcandle
  • Who printed it? The Eiffel Tower may prove difficult for many FDM printers to create successfully. However, resin printers can easily recreate a level of detail that is sure to impress. Don’t take our word for it. Take a look at the several makes of this model created by the Photon.
  • Where to find it? Thingiverse

Reims Cathedral

  • Who designed it? m_bergman
  • Who printed it? You don’t have to look far and wide to find other makers who have printed cathedrals on their Anycubic Photon. It is, with good reason, a popular model to print. The features, especially on the Reims Cathedral, are too beautiful to ignore.

Glorious Games

It’s hard to dislike games. And when you make the games, they’re even harder to dislike. Why not print some game pieces with your Anycubic Photon? Despite its relatively cheap price tag, this printer can achieve impressive detail even on small game pieces.

Again, Thingiverse, MyMiniFactory, Cults, and similar sites are littered with game pieces. You’re sure to find the perfect model for your game of choice. Here are just three cool game pieces that have been successfully printed on resin printers:

Chess Set

  • Who designed it? BigBadBison
  • Who printed it? Almost 200 Thingiverse users have posted makes of this chess set, and a few have been printed on Anycubic Photons. The results are stunning!
  • Where to find it? Thingiverse

Braille Dice

  • Who designed it? dotsrpg
  • Who printed it? DotsRPG posted his picture of the Anycubic Photon’s print of a braille die vs. his FDM printer’s attempt. The differences are more than obvious and highlight the Photon’s incredible capabilities.
  • Where to find it? Thingiverse

D&D Game Piece

  • Who designed it? Yasashii Kyojin Studio
  • Who printed it? The designer of this model printed this on his resin printer. The detail is, as expected, excellent.
  • Where to find it? MyMiniFactory

Magnificent Miniatures

Miniature character models, in particular, seem to be a staple of resin printing. What better way to showcase the capabilities of your fine detail reproduction than with the fine teeth of a D&D monster? Although, beware the support removal on these models, since many of them include delicate spires that need to be cleaned with care.

Lion Knight

  • Who designed it? Alex Colvin
  • Who printed it? The designer printed this model on his Anycubic Photon. The printer does the design justice, capturing all the intricacies of the lion’s fur and armor.
  • Where to find it? ArtStation

Bearded Yell Statue

  • Who designed it? bendansie
  • Who printed it? This bust is a very popular print among Photon owners.
  • Where to find it? Thingiverse

Space Dwarf

  • Who designed it? Capritor
  • Who printed it? Several makers on Thingiverse alone have printed this model on their Photons. The detailed prints paired with fine paint jobs make the finished parts more than impressive.

Ravishing Rings

The One Ring
Look familiar? (Source: norbarth via Thingiverse)

Jewelry is a popular model category with resin 3D printers. The reason is no mystery: Resin printers like the Anycubic Photon can achieve such an impressive level of detail, you can’t help but show it off. Bracelets and earrings are cool enough, but 3D printed rings better exhibit the capabilities of the Photon since they’re usually so intricate. Material use is also kept to a minimum since the rings are quite small.

Here are three ring designs that will impress anyone:

Viking Ring

  • Who designed it? D3DArtist
  • Who printed it? This model has been successfully printed on the Photon. The result (see photo) is impressive. It’s up to you to decide if the digital file is worth the $25.00 fee, though.
  • Where to find it? Biddesigner

Skull Ring

  • Who designed it? Printed Obsession
  • Who printed it? Almost a dozen of the prints of this model posted on MyMiniFactory have been created on the Anycubic Photon.
  • Where to find it? MyMiniFactory

Lord of the Rings

  • Who designed it? Katan
  • Who printed it? Sauron’s ring from The Lord of the Rings is a popularly-printed model for the Photon. And that makes sense because the Photon can retain the intricate letters in the ring.
  • Where to find? Thingiverse

Vivacious Vehicles

Vehicles make excellent additions to 3D print collections. Whether you’re an airplane guy, a car guy, or an intergalactic vessel guy, there are hundreds of models for you to choose from. As you scroll through Thingiverse, MyMiniFactory, Cults, or your 3D file site of choice, you’re sure to be met with one or more awesome vehicle models for you to print and show off.

Though the Photon will do an excellent job on all sorts of vehicle models, here are just three that are pure beauties:

Millennium Falcon

  • Who designed it? aaskedall
  • Who printed it? 763 makers have printed this model and posted their results on Thingiverse, and many of them have been made on the Photon. “It’s not wise to upset a Wookie!” So, the Photon is the perfect printer to make an impressively-detailed Millennium Falcon.
  • Where to find it? Thingiverse

Scale Tanks

  • Who designed it? m_bergman
  • Who printed it? Hundreds of Thingiverse users have printed m_bergman’s models. His tanks are especially popular among Photon owners. They’re small and thus quick to print, and the detail he’s included in the designs are incredibly satisfying.
  • Where to find it? Thingiverse

Benchy

  • Who designed it? CreativeTools
  • Who printed it? The Benchy always seems to float into lists of fantastic 3D models. It’s a lovely little model that’s wildly popular to print on filament and resin printers alike. If you look up reviews of the Anycubic Photon, chances are the Benchy will be one of the featured test prints. So why not give it a shot?
