Those of us who are plugged into the 3D printing community have likely noticed that the consumer market is being reshaped by the influx of increasingly affordable 3D printers. Although it may seem less obvious to the average onlooker, the professional segment has also undergone a renaissance of sorts, and the 3D printer manufacturer Raise3D has found a place for itself as a reasonably priced option for both prosumers and small businesses.

After finding success with the acclaimed N2 series, Raise3D has since released the new Raise3D Pro2 3D printer (along with its bigger brother – the Raise3D Pro2 Plus). With this latest product range, the manufacturer has taken the highly regarded features found in the N2 3D printer and improved upon them them, and has also added some other attributes that make this large-format 3D printer an appealing and affordable option for professionals.

Interested? We thought so… Let’s look at the features and specs of the Raise3D Pro2 3D printer.

Features

The Raise3D Pro2 3D printer offers many of the same excellent features that made the N2 series such a popular choice among pro-sumers and small businesses.

With it, you get a professional-grade 3D printer that has a sufficient build volume of 300x300x305mm, wireless connectivity, and a 7″ full-color touch screen. Other features include print recovery, dual extrusion capabilities, a full enclosure, all of which could also be found on the N2 series.

So, what gives? What makes the Raise3D Pro2 3D printer a superior model compared to its predecessor? Well, we’re glad you asked…

While it’s true that the Raise3D Pro2 and N2 share certain similarities, there are also a handful of new features and improvements in the latest model. For starters, the Pro2 offers exceptional print resolution, bringing the minimum layer thickness down to 0.01mm.

The Raise3D Pro2 3D printer is also equipped with a re-designed dual-gear driven extruder that provides increased filament grip and more reliable material extrusion. The new extruder is almost 50 percent faster than the one found on the N2. There are also improvements to the dual extrusion system, including nozzles that recede until they’re needed again.

The 3D printer has a V2 hotend that is capable of reaching up to 300° C, making it compatible nearly any FDM 3D printing filament you can imagine. You can also keep a remote eye on your prints with the Pro2’s built-in, high-resolution camera.

It also has a magnetic swappable print bed system, enabling users to seamlessly change build plates and optimize the printing process. The manufacturer has labeled the new print bed as “aerospace-grade”, using a silicone heated pad underneath the main plate.

The latest printer from Raise3D also includes improved extruder motors that are mounted with filament runout sensors. The Raise3D Pro2 includes a new cooling fan with a HEPA filter, which traps over 90% percent of all contaminants and keeps dust and debris away from your prints.

Finally, if you dig into the guts of the Raise3D Pro2, you’ll also find a new and improved ARM Cortex M7 32-bit controller. This motherboard is engineered to maintain print accuracy while the nozzle travels at higher speeds.
