Is the BobsCNC Evolution 4 everything you need in a CNC router? Read on for our review of its specs.

The Evolution 4 is a CNC router DIY kit made with a birchwood frame by BobsCNC.

It was released in April 2020 and its somewhat unconventional design is a hallmark of the US-based company, which is run by four old friends (of which one is named Bob, hence BobsCNC).

The company philosophy is to produce “great products” and “great relationships” with its customers (primarily hobbyists, woodworkers, and craft enthusiasts) and employees.

Its latest product, the Evolution 4 is a new and improved edition of the company’s old E4 CNC router, which, after three years, has been retired (though it’s still possible to find refurbished ones on the BobsCNC website for about $800).

Though the new router is a bit pricier than its older counterpart (it sells for about $1,100) it accounts for a host of changes made after taking account of customer feedback.

So, are the changes worth it? Read on as we review this router’s specs.
