A new “budget-friendly” resin 3D printer has popped up on Kickstarter, and it boasts 12K resolution and an insanely fast 200 mm/h print speed.

Emphasis on “insanely”– our current top pick resin printer, the Anycubic M5s, is pretty fast at 105 mm/s, but even those speeds are fudged a bit, and achieved with specific “fast” materials and a compromise in Z-axis quality.

So in the case of the JuiceLab UltraPrint – yes, that’s the name – the jump to 200 mm/h is a big one, to say the least. And given Kickstarter campaigns’ penchant for hyperbole, well, you know the saying about fools and their money.

However, it’s early days, and the UltraPrint does seem to have quite a few enticing features atop its “blazing fast” speed capability. That 12K resolution, for instance, with a 218.88 x 122.88 x 260 mm build volume and a 19-micron XY resolution. There would also be a “portable and turnable ultraviolet curing light”, which JuiceLab says can be placed inside the printer and eliminates the need for a separate curing station.

Features such as automatic resin feeding, automatic resin retrieval (via a pump), a “dual heating system” for better temperature control, a built-in air purifier, and a pre-calibrated build plate for “leveling-free” printing further bolster the UltraPrint’s campaign – and give the machine a lot to deliver on.

Users would control the machine via a five-inch touchscreen, and connect via USB or Wi-Fi. It’s also worth noting that the UltraPrint’s campaign features a Pro variant of the UltraPrint, which it says features an 8K resolution and larger 353 x 198 x 380 mm build volume (and a slightly slower, yet still very fast, top speed of 180 mm/h).

Packages for the UltraPrint and UltraPrint Pro are currently available at $459 and $999 respectively, netting backers around 40% off each machine’s MSRP. For the full scoop, check out the UltraPrint’s Kickstarter page.
