If you find that your iPhone isn’t enough to wake you up in the morning, then why not make yourself an Arduino Nerf Target Alarm clock instead?

For those who need a fun reason to wake up in the morning, this Arduino Nerf target gun could be an interesting option. Start your day off by picking up your nerf gun nestled under your pillow and hit the Arduino target on your wall. Once your adrenaline is pumping, you’ll have no trouble getting out of bed.

Normal Universe have created this unique design and to help you build one yourself, they have an easy to follow YouTube video. The instructions even start in the form of a song.

The best part about this project is perhaps the 3D printed element which makes up the base of the target. They used a Ultimaker 2+ to print the design.

Although, this process can sound a little daunting, especially if you aren’t an experienced maker. However, if you follow the comprehensive YouTube video closely, you shouldn’t be left too far behind.

Make Your Own Arduino Nerf Target Alarm Clock

The explanation may lose many makers along the way, but ultimately for this alarm clock, a piezo crystal is used to spy on the vibrations happening in a piece of cardboard.

To do this, they glued a piezo crystal to a piece of cardboard and then suspended the cardboard so that it is free to vibrate. You then need to wire this in parallel to the LEDs. This also needs to be connected to the analog pin of the Arduino.

The final flourish is a wooden finish which gives the alarm clock a stylish touch. Just add a wall mount, hang up your clock and you’re ready to go. If you don’t intend on using it as an alarm clock, it always makes a handy nerf target instead.

Interested in making your own Arduino alarm clock so you never miss a morning meeting again? Make sure to subscribe to the Normal Universe channel. They’ll soon be releasing a video to explain the programming behind the alarm clock.
