With their global franchise scheme, iMakr plans to conquer the world by opening 40 new 3D printer retail stores over the next two years.
The 3D printer retail store iMakr has announced an ambitious plan for a global franchise scheme; it has plans for 40 stores to be opened worldwide in the next two years.
In a recent announcement, the company says it has grown by 150% in the last 24 months. Based on this momentum in the 3D printing market, iMakr is ready to expand their global presence.
The new scheme will enable 3D printing entrepreneurs to open and manage their own businesses. Each franchisee will be able to leverage the entire spectrum of iMakr’s brand, systems, products and expertise.
“With our five years of experience, we believe that customers require local expertise and access to innovation to get the most out of 3D printing and this franchise scheme satisfies both those requirements,” says Eric Savant, iMakr CEO.
The company expects to open 20 franchisee stores in 2018, with another 20 stores added to the roster in 2019.
iMakr Global Franchise Scheme Seeking Applicants
Started at the end of 2012, iMakr is now celebrating its fifth anniversary. As well as the two retail stores in London and New York, the company also operates an online retail business.
But whether bricks and mortar or the electronic interwebs, they boast an impressive range of desktop 3D printers and scanners. iMakr also offers consulting, training, printing, scanning and design services, and caters to both consumer and professional customers in multiple industries.

But is now really a good time to launch a retail 3D printing business? The top brass at iMakr believe that it is.
“Desktop 3D printer shipments are expected to rise to over 6.7 million units in 2020 according to Gartner, 15 times the level of 2016,” says iMakr Chairman Sylvain Preumont. “We intend to support our franchisees to capture this tremendous potential.”
